Sugar Beans Nachos

My husband enjoys having the above mentioned Nacho kind. I actually learnt this simple recipe through my brother. I make this once in a while, let me share the recipe with you guys.

Some history:

Nachos may have originated in the city of Piedras Negras, CoahuilaMexico, just over the border from Eagle Pass, Texas,or in Ciudad Acuña, CoahuilaMexico, at a restaurant called the Victory Club, owned by Rodolfo De Los Santos. One day in 1943, the wives of 10 to 12 U.S. soldiers stationed at Fort Duncan in nearby Eagle Pass were in Piedras Negras on a shopping trip, and arrived at the restaurant after it had closed for the day. The maître d’, Ignacio “Nacho” Anaya, invented a new snack for them with what little he had available in the kitchen: tortillas and cheese sauce. Anaya cut the tortillas into triangles, added shredded cheddar cheese, quickly heated them, added sliced jalapeño peppers and served them. When asked what the dish was called, he answered, “Nacho’s especiales“. As word of the dish traveled, the apostrophe got lost, and Nacho’s “specials” became “special nachos”. gnacio Anaya died in 1975. In his honor, a bronze plaque was erected in Piedras Negras, and October 21 was declared the International Day of the Nacho. Anaya’s son, Ignacio Anaya Jr., serves as a judge at the annual nacho competition. – Wikipedia

Ingredients:

Tortilla Corn Nacho chips or Doritos cheese flavour

Melted cheese (if you are using Dorito cheese flavoured chips then no need of cheese – Fat conscious)

Canned sugar beans

Chopped spring onion or the normal onion

Chopped tomatoes

Sour cream

Method:

Microwave the chips for about 30 seconds

Add the sugar beans, onion and tomato to the chips

Microwave it for another 3 minutes (If you don’t have microwave, you can bake it in the oven with temp 180 degrees C for 5 mins with all the ingredients except for sour cream)

Add the sour cream and melted cheese last

Tip: You can add the vegetarian Salsa sauce

Enjoy 🙂

  1. @Zero – I’m guessing you are going to try it out 🙂 Yea you can adjust to your taste..Some like a lot more onions than others. I love raw onions, but I will advise 1/2 a medium sized onion 1 and 1/2 tomatoes and 250 g Nachos chips and 1 can of sugar beans..cheese and sour cream as much as you want.
